CFL (Chinese as a Foreign Language) Course

This conversation course is designed for non-native Chinese speakers, using a theme-based and immersive teaching method. The course is taught entirely in Chinese and is divided into Levels 1 to 20, with ten lessons per level.

Course Objectives Students will become fluent in speaking Chinese.
Beginner Level
(Levels 1-5)
• Theme: Me and My Family
• Self-introduction (mood, likes, etc.)
• Describing a typical day
• Practice Chinese sentence structure
Intermediate Level
(Levels 6-15)
• Theme: School and Community
• School-themed Chinese (school dialogues, sharing dreams, etc.)
• Learning Pinyin
• Reading and Chinese character writing practice
Advanced Level
(Levels 16-20)
• Theme: Cultural and Issue Discussions
• Discussing cultural differences
• Reading and discussing global issues (e.g., global warming)
Activities Vocabulary introduction, sentence pattern practice, conversation, games, and crafts.
Course Schedule One lesson per week, groups of 3-4 students.
Suitable for Students with no prior knowledge of Chinese who want to learn how to speak the language.

Advanced Chinese Conversation

The Advanced Chinese Conversation Course is designed for students who can understand Chinese but are not very fluent in speaking. The course is theme-based and focuses primarily on listening and speaking, but reading and writing elements will be gradually integrated as well. The course is divided into Levels 1 to 10, with each level consisting of 12 lessons.

Course Objectives The students are fluent in speaking Chinese and are able to read Chinese.

• Self-Introduction (feelings, favorite things, etc.)
• Describing Your Day (travel experiences, leisure activities, etc.)
• Chinese Sentence Structure Practice
Intermediate Level
(Levels 4-6)
• Theme: School
• Common Phrases in School Life
• Future Plans and Dreams
• Reading and Chinese Character Writing Practice
Upper-intermediate Level
(Levels 7-8)
• Theme: Community
• Reading and Discussing Global Issues Articles (global warming, etc.)
Advanced Level
(Levels 9-10)
• Theme: Culture
• In-depth Understanding of Taiwanese and American Cultures and Discussing Their Differences
Activities Introduction of vocabulary used in specific situations, sentence structure practice, dialogues, games, and crafts.
Course Schedule One class per week, each class 45 minutes long, with 2-4 students in a small group.
Suitable for Students aged 5-12 who can understand Chinese but often respond in English, and want to strengthen their Chinese grammar and vocabulary.
