Kaohsiung Event | Cat Café Meetup – A Purr-fect Success!🥰

Not only were there adorable kittens at the event, but we also hosted a special **“Kitty Fun Fact Session”** just for our MMM families. The meet-and-greet between teachers and students was heartwarming, and the kids were absolutely thrilled to wear the custom outfits we had prepared for them!

📣【Mandarin Mommy & Me｜2025台北場實體活動圓滿落幕！】

今年我們在台灣再次集合囉！  來自美國和台灣的老師與學生們，一起參加了這場夜市主題的文化體驗課程。

從了解台灣夜市的由來與文化開始，各組孩子化身夜市老闆，設計攤位名稱與攬客口號，討論促銷策略：買幾送幾？附贈小禮？表演跳舞吸引客人？看著孩子們熱烈討論、用心準備，再看到家長們臉上的笑容，我們知道——一切努力都值得了！

特別感謝畫師婧依、方老師與師丈的用心，讓孩子們可以穿上專屬的MMM T-Shirt、帶著紀念提袋回美國留作回憶。

📣Mandarin Mommy & Me｜Our 2025 Taipei Event Was a Total Blast!

This year, We reunited in Taiwan once again! Our teachers and students from the U.S. joined us for an exciting cultural adventure inspired by Taiwan’s iconic night markets.

We kicked things off by exploring the history and traditions behind these vibrant markets. Then, each group of kids transformed into little shop owners—designing their game booths, creating catchy slogans, and coming up with creative promotions like “buy one, get one free,” handing out free gifts, or even dancing to attract customers! Watching the kids dive into planning and seeing the proud smiles on parents’ faces—that’s when we knew it was all worth it.

A massive shoutout to illustrator 婧依, Teacher Fang, and my husband Scott for all the love and effort they put into this event. Thanks to them, the kids got to wear exclusive MMM T-shirts and bring home custom tote bags as special souvenirs from Taiwan.

感謝家長完成老師想見學生的心願。能親眼看到他們、偷抱一下都覺得好幸福，尤其是一個眼神交流，他們就知道老師要幹嘛了，哈哈，真的是超有默契的。會議室聚集了美國各地的孩子，卻自然的說中文、用中文學習，我們要為自己感到驕傲呀！

我還見到一直期待見面的台灣學生，Covid 讓我們有機會能彼此認識，終於能面對面時眼眶泛淚，因為我知道大家都是特別用心，讓師生能有珍貴的回憶。

2024 MMM Summer Meetup in Taipei

A big thank you to all the parents who helped make this meetup happen—it truly meant the world to me to finally see my students in person.Just being able to see them, sneak in a little hug, and share a smile was such a heartwarming experience . Especially when we made eye contact—it was like they instantly knew what I was thinking. It made me laugh and reminded me of the special bond we’ve built. The room was filled with kids from all over the U.S., yet they naturally spoke and learned Mandarin. That’s something we should all be so proud of!

I also finally got to meet my students from Taiwan—students I’d been hoping to see for such a long time. We first connected during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now, being able to meet face-to-face has moved me to tears . I know how much love and effort everyone put into making this moment possible, and I’ll treasure these memories with my students forever.

透過團體班共學的力量，能和同學用中文做生活詞彙以外較深入的交流。我所擔任的角色為鷹架，為孩子找好適合的文本、補充知識與詞彙說明等，輔助孩子理解，透過有意義的問答，讓孩子們能獲得比獨自閱讀更深刻的收穫。

我們大人讀過不代表懂，更何況是孩子呢？這也是為什麼橋樑書的課程開發如此辛苦，我仍然繼續堅持下去的持續燒腦的原因，也感謝跟了我這麼多年的孩子們。

以親子天下《漫畫語文集》為例。

這個系列是我非常喜歡發生在世界各個角落的真實故事，對於孩子的思考必定有些啟發。

這則發生在東京迪士尼麥當勞的真實故事，原先孩子很支持店員不賣兒童餐給那對年輕夫婦的做法，但隨著真實的狀況揭發——他們是為了信守孩子的承諾而點兒童餐時（老師不爆雷，有興趣請購買書籍），我看到孩子們動搖了。

我們開始思考怎樣的做法可以做到情理法，但這個年紀的發展是法會先於情，這跟兒童道德發展階段有關。這個故事給了孩子一個打破現有思想的機會，不再是「是非二極觀」而是有機會思考更彈性的作法，這也是共學的好處呀！孩子間的意見互相交流比老師單向指引有趣多了。

補充「道德發展理論」有一個非常經典的偷藥故事，有興趣的家長可以參考香港大學兒童與家庭發展中心的整理看您是在哪個階段。在教育學裡，我們會學習孩子的各種發展原理，我非常喜歡，如果有興趣之後有機會再分享喔。

金山灣區華僑文教服務中心主任莊雅淑化身為聖誕老婆婆，向參與活動的孩童發送聖誕禮物，她表示很高興邀請到陳紫雯擔任說故事來賓，讓孩子們從小開始玩中文，從玩中文裡學中文是非常快樂的，以及僑委會的全球青商潛力之星得主邊歆茹擔任手作老師，邊歆茹創作藝術平台，茁壯了學童的藝術教育。莊雅淑祝所有家長與小朋友都有一個愉快的聖誕佳節。

畢業於新竹教育大學幼研所的陳紫雯，擁有幼兒教育及小學教師證及十多年教育經驗，2019年成立「Mandarin Mommy & Me 一起玩中文」臉書社團，以快樂的遊戲方式帶領孩子進入中文環境，該社團擁有近三千名家長加入。她表示，身為台灣人，在灣區一直想為台灣的孩子做一點貢獻，希望透過自己生動的故事講述方式，教導家長親子共讀不一定要按照書本講，以互動方式能建立更好的親子關係。

從小喜愛繪畫及美術，對藝術創作與推廣充滿熱情的邊歆茹，2023年獲得中華民國僑務委員會評選為30名「全球青商潛力之星」之一，並受邀代表出席美國亞太認證合作組織（APAC）晚宴，2024年獲得行政院國家發展基金投資。邊歆茹不僅為故事時間帶來聖誕樹手作，還將新書「早知道就好的事」捐贈圖書館，作為永久館藏。莊雅淑代表僑教中心向邊歆茹頒發了褒揚狀，感謝她對僑教中心的支持以及對社區教育的貢獻。

華盛頓大學 K12程式教師Ms. Eva將為Mandarin Mommy & Me帶來【科技潛能課程】非單純的coding而是透過繪本與遊戲，培養孩子解決問題的邏輯力！大孩子則以程式和科技了解為未來創新做準備。

參加方式
1.填寫報名表。
2.學生年齡與程度須符合課程要求。
3.公開試聽課非正式課程，上課時間較短、人數較多。
正式課程人數為4-6人。

以下是公開試聽課程資訊

一、基礎注音課
適合4-8歲零注音基礎，能聽說中文的學生。

二、基礎漢語拼音班
適合7歲以上，想學漢語拼音打字，能聽說中文並能辨別常用字的學生。

三、漢字閱讀班
適合4-10歲，想學漢字識字班閱讀的學生，不需要會注音。

四、橋樑書閱讀班
適合6-12歲，注音拼讀流利，想閱讀長篇故事的學生。

五、科技潛能課
適合6-8歲-繪本與程式邏輯：透過繪本與遊戲，培養解決問題的邏輯力！
適合9-11歲-程式與創新：培養全面的科技趨勢，找到數位時代的新定位！
